Passive Fire Protection
The insulation of soffit systems separates air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned floors and reduces the temperature differences at the interface points of these adjacent floors, which helps in preventing surface and interstitial condensation from occurring. The presence of condensation increases the risk of mould and fungi growing on the ceilings or walls, which can have a significant impact on the building's safety and value, endangering the health of the occupants and lowering the property's value over time.
Thermal Efficiency
The insulation of soffit systems reduces the heat transfer between floors, which decreases the energy consumption needs for controlled ambient temperature applications, thus increasing the energy efficiency of the building structure.
