The Difference Between
ROCKWOOL stone wool insulation is the difference between proven protection and facility failures, safety risks and the performance of lesser insulation materials.
ROCKWOOL stone wool insulation is optimized to act as a physical barrier between elemental threats that pose a risk to your buildings and infrastructure, the harmful noise that affects the health and safety of occupants, as well as the conditions that impact the energy efficiency of your operations.
Passive Fire Protection
Not all insulation materials react in the same way to fire and heat. A material's combustibility is determined by measuring results from a series of ‘Reaction to Fire’ tests which cover these key characteristics. There are 3 main contributors to fire which are Fuel, Oxygen and Heat and removing 1 of these elements will stop the fire. But flashovers can happen within the 2-minute mark, with temperatures rising as high as 800°C in just 3 minutes. Not all insulation reacts the same way to fire, especially when it hits the 5 mins mark when temp hits 1000 deg. To discover the insulation's reaction to fire, request the manufacturer to provide its Fire Test Reports. Seeing is believing, to experience the ROCKWOOL difference, click below.
High Temperature Performance
The demands of day-to-day operations at your facility put stress on every piece of equipment and infrastructure, including the insulation that protects them. ROCKWOOL provides solutions with the resilient performance needed to stand up to that stress. Its high temperature durability, proven water repellency and robust construction are what ultimately make the difference in the efficiency and cost effectiveness of your operations.
Water Repellent
Water is central to our very existence. However, when it comes to buildings and industry, it can often be the cause of major problems, including mould, rot and corrosion. In construction projects, it is essential that we select insulation materials that do not absorb moisture if they are exposed to water. ROCKWOOL stone wool is one of these materials. We offer excellent water repellent properties, keeping your buildings and infrastructure dry without any reduction in thermal performance over time. To see how our products repel water, click below.
Sustainability
ROCKWOOL products are developed with sustainability at heart. Due to its raw material of volcanic rock, our products are not only designed to be durable and recyclable, but also highly energy efficient. As a result of our products’ use in 2022, we continue to have a significant positive impact, among other ways by creating more energy and carbon efficient buildings, more efficient food production and more acoustically sound buildings.
